Rude Awakening is an iOS app that combines premium sleep sounds with comedy-driven alarm experiences. Users fall asleep to calming white noise, rain, ocean waves, and other ambient sounds, then wake up to hilariously obnoxious alarm characters — drill sergeants, passive-aggressive British butlers, manic morning show hosts, and more.

Each alarm character has three escalation stages that become increasingly absurd the longer the user ignores the alarm. The app also features calendar intelligence that provides smart alarm suggestions based on tomorrow's events, a gamification system with streaks, ranks, and credits, and a generous free tier that makes the core experience available to everyone.

The app bridges the gap between sleep apps and alarm apps while occupying a unique position that neither currently serves: the intersection of utility and entertainment.
