Terms of Service — Rude Awakening

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Rude Awakening ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Rude Awakening is a mobile application that provides sleep sounds and alarm functionality with comedy character experiences. The App includes both free and premium features available via subscription or individual purchase.

Alarm Disclaimer

The App is provided for entertainment and utility purposes. While we strive for reliable alarm functionality, we cannot guarantee that alarms will fire in all circumstances. Factors outside our control — including but not limited to device battery level, iOS settings, Focus modes, software updates, and hardware issues — may affect alarm delivery. Do not rely solely on this App for critical wake-up needs such as medical appointments, flights, or safety-critical situations. We are not responsible for any damages resulting from missed alarms.

User Accounts

The App does not require account creation. Your data is stored on your device and synced via your Apple ID through iCloud. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID and device.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store at the prices displayed at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your iPhone's Settings app.
Individual character packs and credit bundles are one-time purchases and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies.
Content unlocked with Alarm Credits is permanently owned and is not affected by subscription status.

Alarm Credits

Alarm Credits are a virtual in-app currency. Credits have no monetary value outside the App and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to other users, or refunded. We reserve the right to modify the credit economy (earning rates, prices) with reasonable notice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Attempt to manipulate the credit, streak, or ranking systems
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App or its content

Intellectual Property

All character voices, sound recordings, artwork, and other creative content in the App are owned by or licensed to Rude Awakening. You may share clips generated by the App's built-in sharing features for personal, non-commercial use.

Calendar Access

The App requests read-only access to your calendar through Apple's EventKit framework. This access is used solely to provide smart alarm suggestions and evening/morning briefings. You can revoke this access at any time through your device's Privacy settings. The App will function without calendar access, but smart alarm features will be unavailable.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rude Awakening and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claims related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App for users who violate these terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
